Tell Me More...
A new kid on the block, Geranium wallichianum 'Bloom Me Away' has been bred to produce larger flowers much earlier than most other varieties. Continuing blooming throughout the summer and well into the autumn, until the first frosts.A vigorous plant, with lots of dense stems, a wonderful mat of weed-suppressing foliage is formed by the lush green leaves. Innumerable violet-blue blooms with intricate magenta veins and white eyes will delight you and your local pollinators from June to October and often much longer. One of the most popular garden plants, the Geranium family are loved for their versatility and easy-going, low maintenance nature. Commonly known as Cranesbill, said to be because when the petals have fallen, the centre looks like the bill of a crane.Happy in both borders and containers, Geranium wallichianum 'Bloom Me Away' will reach a mature height of around 40cm, and spread to 60cm. Drought tolerant, preferring to be grown in well-drained soil in sun or partial shade, it is hardy to around -10 C.
