Tell Me More...
Gardenia jasminoides 'Golden Crown' is an extremely floriferous variety emitting an alluring, sweet and impressive perfume. An abundance of fragrant, fully double pure white blooms are produced and are enhanced by being set against pretty, variegated green and cream-yellow, slim, evergreen leaves from July through to September. Such is the aroma your garden will be filled with a jasmine-like scent. The gardenia fragrance is so appealing you find it is used in certain perfumes and in scented candles. Walking past 'Golden Crown' growing in the summer sun is like having a small 'perfume factory' in your garden. Compact in habit and slow growing, this variety is ideal for planting in containers as well as borders. Perhaps plant next to a door, seating area or path in order you can enjoy wherever you are. Eventual height and spread 90cm to 1.2m. Prefers to be planted in a moist but well-drained soil in a position of full sun or partial shade. Half-hardy evergreen shrub tolerating temperatures to -5 degrees C.
