Delightful double-flowered snowdrops, Galanthus Flore Pleno are a joy to behold when little else is flowering in the depths of winter.Snowdrops mark the start of spring, causing a great stir amongst gardeners and loved by all. Look inside the nodding heads of these tiny, ruffled flowers and admire the intricate green and white markings on layer upon layer of petals.Galanthus Flore Pleno produce narrow grey-green leaves with solitary, fragrant double white flowers up to 30cm in height.Planted in partial shade where they can naturalise in drifts is best for these tiny fluffy beauties, who will survive the starkest of winters, often blooming before the single-flowered varieties.Plant your bulbs in September to October 10cm deep in moist, well-drained soil. The flowers do not last long once cut, but a tiny jar of these pretty little bells at the bedside could never fail to raise a smile!
