A new and extremely showy, long-lived cultivar which produces an abundance of large flowers, up to 10cm across, from June right through to September each year. Gaillardia aristata 'Amber Wheels' brings daisy-like blooms which have frilled, deep-yellow petals surrounding an alluring amber-red centre. Foliage emerges in March and forms low, light-green mounds from which the strong stems burst forth. Flowers act as a pull for butterflies and other pollinators, as well as being a colourful inclusion in vases or other floral displays. Happy in a container, herbaceous border or gravel garden - these beauties are drought tolerant once they have established a good root structure.Gaillardia aristata 'Amber Wheels' prefers a site with well-drained soil in full sun. A hardy, herbaceous perennial which matures to a height and spread of 40-50cm. Plant with reds and yellows for a hot and heady mix or choose blues and purples to provide a rainbow of contrast in your planting.
