Fragaria x ananassa Elegance is a well-known variety of strawberry which produces large and lovely summer fruits in June and July each year. Especially chosen for its flavour, reliability and generous cropping, like all strawberries Elegance is rich in valuable antioxidants and a great source of vitamin C. Furthermore, in our efforts to cater to those of you with smaller planting spaces Fragaria x ananassa Elegance is perfect for pots and baskets as well as the ground - ideal for a balcony, patio or terraced garden. Sweet enough to eat straight from the plant (and at their juiciest in the warmth of the summer sun), fruits are good for jams, cakes and freezing too. Prefers to be planted in fertile, moist, well-drained soil in a sunny spot. Fragaria x ananassa Elegance is a hardy, semi-evergreen with a height and spread of 50cm. Plants may need some protection from birds and other wildlife whilst they are fruiting as wildlife loves them almost as much as we do!
