We present three easy grow foliage plants; they also produce flowers, as is their nature.Butomus umbellatus - this is a classic flowering old world rush for margins. Tall leaves rise from the water's edge, sway in the breeze, attracting pollinators above the water and small fish love swimming amongst the reeds.Cyperus alternifolius - This is an architectural plant for the waters edge. Sometimes referred to as Umbrella Grass. Thin dark green stems rise form the soil and are topped with an umbrella of thin leaves. Another lovely pant and at its best when it moves in a summer breeze.Pontederia cordata - An easy grow plant for the pond margins. An herbaceous perennial which produces spires of blue flowers and is an attraction for visiting butterflies. A very hardy plant which grows up the east coast of Canada. Pontederia naturally dies back in the winter and returns with renewed vigour in the Spring.
