Tell Me More...
Filipendula 'Kahome' is an exciting, new, dwarf cultivar which produces mounds of pinnately divided leaves in lush green from spring right through to the first frosts. Flowers emerge in July are held in feathery plumes throughout summer on upright stems - their appearance is similar to astilbe panicles though the colouration is more intense, rosy pink. Stems are perfect for cutting to add to a vase or floral display. Commonly known as meadowsweet - the native wildflower variety is found in damper soils and grasslands throughout the UK and was frequently used in Tudor times to scent people's homes, although when crushed the aroma is more antiseptic in nature. Meadowsweet has a number of medicinal uses including against headache; it is a traditional hangover remedy!Filipendula 'Kahome' is ideally suited to moist, well-drained soil in either full sun or partial shade and is unfussy on aspect. A hardy, herbaceous perennial which reaches a height of 35cm and spread up to 45cm.
