A starburst firework captured and frozen in time, the spherical balls are made up of myriad of a small, star-shaped flowers.What makes alliums so appealing are the enchanting spherical orbs which seem to float above the border. When these orbs are on the larger varieties of alliums, we refer to these spheres as globes.Collection comprises; Allium 'giganteum' - currently the largest allium available, this tall ornamental onion creates an impressive focal point in any garden, with pink-purple blooms up to 15cm or more across, height 1.8m; Allium schubertii' - one of the largest allium flowerheads, up to 30cm diameter, consisting of a myriad of pink florets on different-sized stalks gently waving from the top of their green stem, height 40-60cm; and Allium stipitatum - a stunning, hot pink allium with perfectly spherical blooms which consist of star-shaped flowers on short stems, height 1m. Plant in well-drained soil which benefits from full sun for flowers from May to July. Hardy, bulbous perennials which will naturalise in the right conditions for fantastic displays year after year, as well as attracting beneficial pollinators into the garden. Also, a valuable addition to arrangements in a vase, either fresh or dried, for dramatic impact in your home.
