A popular, tough and dramatic this small, bushy, evergreen shrub will climb if given support and planted against a wall.Creating excellent weed-suppressing groundcover, the rounded leaves have irregular white margins, which gain a beautiful pink glow in winter. In May and June clusters of green flowers appearKnown by the common name Spindle Tree, the wood of Euonymus was once used to make spindles to spin wool, while the name Euonymus comes from ancient Greek meaning lucky.Excellent as a low growing hedge, Euonymus fortune Emerald Gaiety is evergreen in all but the most severe of temperatures, when It may lose some leaves but will sprout again in the spring. Preferring to be grown in moist, well-drained soil and happy in sun or part shade, Emerald Gaiety will reach a height of 1m and spreads to around 1.5m.Euonymus fortune Emerald Gaiety has been given an award of garden merit by the Royal Horticultural Society for outstanding performance in the garden.
