Tell Me More...
A relative newcomer to the ‘Winter Series’ of Erysimum, this hybrid combines the best qualities of several species to give you large, long-flowering, intensely fragrant plants with a neat, tight growth habit. Erysimum ‘Winter Light’ is a truly radiant variety with limoncello yellow flowers which shift and change in tone as they emerge, develop and mature from March through to September. This generously floriferous plant is perfect for a rock garden, the middle of a border, or a container display. It is easy-going too as, aside from a light haircut after flowering, it can be left alone to do its own, rather spectacular thing. Erysimum ‘Winter Light’ likes a spot in moderately fertile soil which is well-drained, so heavy clays are best avoided or adjusted accordingly. Plant in full sun or partial shade. A half-hardy (H3), evergreen perennial which reaches a height and spread of 30-40cm and may need some additional winter protection in colder areas of the UK.
