Tell Me More...
Eremurus stenophyllus comes from a family of plants native to Asia and these clump forming perennials certainly know how to create an exotic show in your borders during the heat of summer! Clumps of strap-shaped leaves emerge in March, lasting through to August. In June tall, strong flower stems appear and the golden flowers open, in their masses, from the bottom of the stem working their way upwards in a beautiful, floral wave to welcome in the pollinators.Eremurus stenophyllus is less imposing than some other varieties so will happily settle in the mid-tier of a sunny border and can even be grown in a container providing the base is broad enough. So accommodating is this variety of eremurus that it holds the RHS Award for Garden Merit - an accolade which directly reflects its dependability and outstanding performance.Eremurus stenophyllus is a hardy herbaceous perennial which makes an ideal cut flower, as well as a glorious inclusion in the garden. Plants prefer a site which benefits from humus-rich, well-drained soil in full sun. Grows to a height and spread of 1m.
