Traditionally grown in the Mediterranean and admired in our home-grown lavender fields, English lavender is known for being much lighter and sweeter than French lavender. A much loved cottage garden favourite which has come back into fashion in more recent times, often taking centre stage in RHS show gardens. Blooming in abundance from July to September, English Lavender is an ideal flower to cut for your home. Whether freshly cut or dried you will enjoy the fantastic fragrance in every room, or why not try adding some dried sprigs to your bath for relaxation. Often used as a flavouring in 'Herbes de provence', chicken, turkey, lamb, and salads pair really well with the flavour. Loved by bees and butterflies who admire and flutter around the blooms. These hardy perennials prefer to bask in the sun for at least half of the day and adore poor dry well-drained soil.
