Flowering abundantly in spring and early summer, Epimedium are also known as 'Bishops Hat' due to the shape of each flower. These are delicate blooms which have a delightful habit of nodding in the slightest breeze. Your collection comprises:grandiflorum 'Pink Elf'- sprays of pretty, pink, star-like flowers, each with four arching sepals, over evergreen foliage, which has bronze tones when young, height 45cm, spread 60cmgrandiflorum 'Purple Pixie' - wiry, branched, red-purple stems rise, bearing open racemes of large blooms with vivid, pink-purple sepals and bright white spurs from the end of March to July, an herbaceous perennial, height 30cm spread 45cmpubigerum - a profusion of small, pink flushed buds, open revealing cream-white blooms with bright yellow centres - evergreen foliage is bronze in winter and purple-bronze when young, height 40cm, spread 60cm.Creating dense carpets of weed-suppressing foliage, Epimedium spread by rhizomes and are perfect for planting into borders and containers, under shrubs and trees or in a woodland setting. Originating from Eastern Europe, Epimedium prefer to be situated in moist, well-drained soil in a fully or partly shaded spot. All are hardy requiring very little attention over winter.
