It’s no wonder why Hellebores are some of the most popular winter-flowering plants. In medieval times, Hellebore were said to break bad spells and curses, but today they are known for their unsurpassed winter beauty. Commonly known as the ‘Lenten Rose’, the large, double-flowering, nodding blooms of these specially selected varieties are much like a Rose, appearing above glossy, clump-forming evergreen foliage from late winter to early spring. Thriving in cold weather, they can even be seen flowering in the snow. Preferring a shady position, they are ideal for lighting up dark areas of the garden. Easy to maintain, they are also rabbit and deer resistant. The flowers are also great for cutting to add to your winter and spring flowering arrangements. Fully hardy perennials. Hellebores are best planted in a moist, humus-rich soil in a position of dappled shade. Your Hellebores will reach a height and spread 35cm.
