Tell Me More...
Bring a taste of the exotic into your homeA member of the Mandevilla family, Dipladenia is a bushy, shrub-like plant with a slightly trailing habit. Bold, tubular flowers are bright red and glow against deep green, glossy foliage. From the same family as Oleander, this South African native is best grown as a houseplant as it needs continuity of temperature (no lower than 18 C) - even the hardiest Dipladenia will not survive the slightest frost. Ensure your plant has a minimum of 6-8 hours of light per day but avoid placing it in direct sunlight. Likes a well-drained growing medium - water liberally when the soil is dry just beneath the surface and feed fortnightly with a liquid fertiliser. Blooms usually appear from June to August and are similar to hibiscus flowers with a showy, exotic feel to them. Mature H&S: 60cm x 60cmCan be pruned after flowering as required. Propagate from cuttings.Dipladenia are evergreen tender perennials with an RHS hardiness rating of H1a
