Tell Me More...
A brilliant way to attract butterflies and other pollinators to your garden, Diervilla x splendens 'Diva' will want to take the limelight both when it flowers in June to August and when it offers its robust and richly hued foliage from March to November. An unusual, hardy shrub which is covered in clusters of buttery yellow, trumpet-like flowers during summer. Flowers are similar to honeysuckle with their elegant tubular shape and protruding stamens, which is why this plant is often referred to as the Bush Honeysuckle. Foliage is especially striking in tones of red and bronze earlier in the year, developing deeper green hues throughout the summer. Leaves are large and jungle-like with an oval form culminating in elegantly pointed tips.Diervilla are thicket forming shrubs and Diervilla x splendens 'Diva' matures to a height of 1.5 metres with a spread of 1.2 metres. A hardy, herbaceous shrub, ideal for filling gaps with interest - perhaps near the back of a border or used as low screening. Can also be grown as hedging. Prefers well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade.
