Tell Me More...
Dichondra argentea ‘Silver Falls’ is an unusual and exciting, evergreen summer bedding plant which is most often used as a bushy, trailing addition to baskets and containers. It produces delightful silvery toned, heart-shaped leaves up to 3cm across for ‘spilling’ interest in your seasonal planting. Space allowing, stems can trail as much as 1.2m for an astounding display! In early summer small, pale, yellow-green or white flowers emerge for added interest. Alongside its trailing abilities, Dichondra argentea ‘Silver Falls’ makes valuable groundcover as plants will intertwine with one another to form a dense mat. This adaptable annual bedding plant adds intriguing interest to your baskets, window boxes and containers from spring right through to autumn dependent upon temperatures. Dichondra argentea ‘Silver Falls’ prefers a spot with well-drained soil of any kind except heavy clay and position in full sun or light shade. As a tender (H2) annual, this evergreen bedding plant will die back once your garden climate drops below around 1-5°C. Mature plants reach a height of 10-20cm with a spread/ trail of up to 1.2-1.5m.
