The ‘Dicentra Duo’ always make a stunning addition to any garden, offering elegant, heart-shaped flowers that bloom in spring and early summer. Known commonly as Bleeding Hearts, their arching stems are adorned with delicate, pink or white blossoms resembling tiny hearts. Dicentra thrives in partially shaded areas with well-draining, moist soil, making them ideal for woodland gardens, shaded borders, or underplanting beneath trees. Once established, these hardy perennials reach a height of around 90cm, spreading to 60cm, and will return year after year, adding charm and texture to your garden. Taxonomists have recently changed the name from Dicentra to Lamprocapnos, but many prefer to stick to the original - either way they pair beautifully with ferns, hostas, and other shade-loving perennials. Low maintenance yet visually striking, the Dicentra Duo is perfect for gardeners looking to create a romantic, old-fashioned garden aesthetic with graceful, flowing blooms.
