Diascia 'Breezee Apple Blossom' creates a breath-taking display from May to October. New breeding has created Diascia Breezee, which have been developed to produce many more, and much larger flowers for longer. This makes 'Breezee' a 'must have' for your borders, baskets and window boxes all summer long. Diascia are distant relatives of both the foxglove and the snapdragon. On close inspection of the hundreds of small, trumpet-shaped blooms this can be understood by their shape. Blooms almost seem to bubble as they appear along the stems adding bursts of beautiful colour. These develop into frothing streams of flowers from May to October over compact, semi-evergreen mounds of foliage. Commonly known as Twinspur because of the spurs on the back of the flowers. These spurs contain a special oil collected by bees in the plant's native South Africa. Diascia 'Breezee Apple Blossom' prefers to be grown in well-drained soil in sun or partial shade and grows to a height and spread of 30cm. As a half-hardy, evergreen perennial these are often grown as annual bedding plants, although they can be protected from frost over winter and reinvigorated the following year.
