Tell Me More...
One of the best in the alpine pink family, Dianthus ‘Stargazer’ displays wonderful, single or semi-double blooms with frilly edged white petals - each one boasts a dark, deep red, almost black centre and textured white stamen. Blooming from May to August the flowers are loved by bees and other pollinators and will make a long-lasting and fragrant addition to small floral arrangements within your home. Almost obscuring the attractive, compact, usually evergreen mounds of grey-green foliage this plant will create effective weed suppressing groundcover. Heat and drought tolerant, Dianthus ‘Stargazer’ prefers to be grown in well-drained soil in a sunny position, where it will reach a height of around 20cm, spreading to 30cm. A fully hardy perennial, happy in borders, containers and baskets, in an east, south of west facing aspect.
