Large, pale mauve, semi-double flowers with delicate white centres are packed densely on the statuesque stems of Delphinium 'Guinevere'. This cultivar is a member of the Pacific Hybrid group of delphiniums, developed in California during the 1950s and 60s for extra height and bigger flowers. Delphinium has a reputation for being somewhat demanding, though in truth it is simply a short-lived perennial which requires the grower to take a few simple measures for it to thrive. If you are prepared to provide staking, water freely throughout the growing season (to avoid the formation of drought-loving powdery mildew), apply a liquid feed every 2-3 weeks, and cut back flowers as they fade, 'Guinevere' will reward your efforts with a magnificent display for several years. Prefers fertile, well-drained soil in full sun, with shelter from strong winds. H&S: 1.7m x 75cm. Hardy perennial.
