The stems are excellent as cut flowers for your home and are often used commercially for florists.Delphinium are named from Ancient Greek, meaning dolphin, as the blooms of the wild plants were said to be dolphin shaped, (though new breeding is now producing blooms of a different shape).Delphinium Blue Jay prefers to be grown in well-drained soil in sun or part shade, reaching a height of 1.5m and spreading to 30cm. A fully hardy, herbaceous perennial that will die back over winter to sprout again the following spring.
