Tell Me More...
Delosperma cooperi 'Jewel of the Desert Topaz' is a sight to behold when it blooms from May to October each year. With its semi-succulent, bright green foliage it is beneficially drought tolerant and simply adores a well-drained sunny spot in the garden. Ideal for rockeries and gravel gardens as well as pots and the edges of dry paths or borders where it will spread its fiery orange yellow halo of blooms and delight the visiting pollinators. Plants are native to South and East African, where they grow on rocky ground up mountains and along the coast - making them ideal for similar conditions in your garden. Often referred to as the Ice Plant because of the shimmering, sparkling allure of the foliage and flowers. Plant Delosperma cooperi 'Jewel of the Desert Topaz' in well-drained soil which benefits from full sun and any aspect other than north facing. A hardy perennial which grows to 15cm tall and spreads up to 50cm, these dainty delights will not tolerate sitting in wet soil and need protection from temperatures below -10 C.
