Tell Me More...
The name foxglove is said to have arisen from a story about playful fairies, wanting to help the wily foxes. They slipped a foxglove over each paw and ever since, the fox has had the attribute of stealth. Excellent for cutting – lasting 7-10 days in a vase, although you may not wish to deprive the passing wildlife of a nectar-rich feast. Deadhead as each flower is spent to encourage more flowers and promote seed production for self seeding in the second year.
