Cyclamen hederifolium blooms from late summer and throughout autumn. Its dainty, pale pink blooms are often seen as a joyful signifier of the changing seasons. Unusually plants produce flowers first, followed later by dark green foliage with complex silvery markings. Foliage is similar in shape to an ivy leaf - hence the common name. This delicate looking perennial is tough and ideal for naturalising beneath deciduous trees and shrubs. Conditions here perfectly match a preference for moist winters and dry summers. Cyclamen hederifolium are also well suited to the front of a border, a rockery or a container. Their beneficial tendency to self-sow means they will gradually form eye-catching drifts in favourable conditions and look fantastic once established. Plants prefer a site in moderately fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil which benefits from partial shade. A hardy, cormous perennial which reaches a height and spread of 15-20cm.
