Mexican bonita in triumphant scarlet hues A fantastically colourful bloom with masses of flowers from June to September. Cuphea procumbens ‘Sweet Talk Red’ is a ‘self-cleansing’ flower so there is no need to keep deadheading – spent flowers will drop themselves, taking away some of the hard work for you. The simple, deeply veined foliage emerges in March and grows to form bushy mounds of opposite facing leaves. Reaching to 35cm in height, stems are smothered with windmill like, vibrant scarlet flowers, with purple hues to the centre. Great for adding to a container, rockery or basket as well as happy in your borders – anywhere, in fact, where their joyous colours can shine forth; enticing in pollinators as they grow. Flowers can also be cut for a vase or bouquet, allowing you to take their beauty away from the garden to enjoy indoors.
