Tell Me More...
Crocus minimus 'Spring Beauty' is quite a sight to behold, bringing miniature magic into the garden with colours to bring a smile to your face in winter. For the hibernating insects emerging from their slumbers, crocuses offer a vital supply of nectar and pollen. Crocus minimus 'Spring Beauty' boasts unusual flowers. Large, upright, goblet-shaped blooms, the inner petals are lilac, while the white outer petals create an incredible contrast with their dark purple feathering. The arrival of the first crocuses of spring stir the heart, indicating that winter is losing its icy grip and warmer times are just over the horizon. Crocus provide a spurt of colour just when you need it. Wonderful too for the hibernating insects as they emerge from their slumbers, crocuses offer a vital supply of nectar and pollen. A cormous perennial, Crocus minimus 'Spring Beauty' will reach a height of approximately 10cm and is wonderful planted in window boxes and baskets, or plant in drifts under trees or for naturalising in your lawn to dramatic effect. Best planted in moist, well-drained soil in sun or part shade.
