Tell Me More...
The arrival of the first crocuses of spring stir the heart, a true sight to behold. With unusual colouring, Crocus chrysanthus 'Cream Beauty' provides fragrant, creamy coloured goblets with rich golden base. Wonderful too for the hibernating insects as they emerge from their slumbers, crocuses offer a vital supply of nectar and pollen. Also known as the Golden Crocus or Snow Crocus, chrysanthus have smaller blooms than the Dutch crocus but produce more flowers per bulb. Even a small clump can be easily seen from a distance. Blooming earlier too, they often emerge through a layer of snow, hence the common name.Growing from corms Crocus Cream Beauty will reach a height of approximately 8-10cm and is wonderful planted in borders and containers, in drifts or for naturalising in your lawn to dramatic effect.Crocus chrysanthus 'Cream Beauty' is fully hardy and prefers to be grown in moist, well-drained soil in sun or shade.
