Tell Me More...
Sunny wands of sizzling colour Crocosmia ‘John Boots’ is a sunny and resplendent variety of crocosmia which lends graceful, pleated, lance-like leaves to your planting from March through to October each year. Then, from July to September of their second year, bright and bountiful blooms appear on arching, graceful stems for rich and intense colour in pots and herbaceous borders. Crocosmia ‘John Boots’ reaches a mature height of 60cm with each corm spreading to approximately 20cm. Ideal for planting ‘en masse’ to create dome shaped mounds of spiky, sunshine yellow colour that are sure to attract attention and draw in the pollinators too. Adaptable enough for cottage style, informal planting or a modern city or courtyard garden, Crocosmia ‘John Boots’ is related to plants from the plains and grasslands of South Africa, so is robust and drought tolerant once established. A hardy perennial which prefers a site in well-drained soil which benefits from full sun or part shade.
