Tell Me More...
First cultivated in Britain in the early 19th century, they originated in the grasslands of South Africa and were named from the Greek Krokos (saffron) and osme (smell) as the leaves smell of saffron when rubbed. The fiery tomato red blooms will heat up the garden from late summer. Trouble free, easy to grow, rabbit resistant and good for cutting. Prefers moist soil in sun or partial shade.
