Tell Me More...
Enliven your pots and summer planting with the rich, intense chocolate-maroon hues of Cosmos atrosanguineus. You must be sure to stop and breathe-in the deep and delightful chocolate scent of these amazing flowers from June to August too – all the pleasure without the calories! Cosmos atrosanguineus produces single, simple shaped flowers above lush, green foliage. Petals are velvety in appearance and flowers are held on long, strong stems which are great for impact in vases and bouquets as well as the garden. A perfect way to draw in the pollinators to your garden. Plants are half-hardy perennials and, as such, should be lifted for protection over winter (or planted in containers) as they will need to be stored in a frost-free environment in order to enjoy them in following years. Plant in moist, well-drained soil which benefits from full sun and these beauties will reach a height of up to 90cm with a spread of 50cm.
