Big, beautiful grassesFor big impact, low maintenance planting, try our Cortaderia selloana 'Desirable Duo'. Hailing from Argentina, pampas grass has long been a favourite among UK gardeners, and understandably so. This robust, evergreen, ornamental grass forms large, compact tufts of arching, glaucous, sharp-edged leaves (excellent for intruder-proofing boundaries), and sends up striking, dense, feathery, flower plumes throughout summer. The collection comprises of 'Rosea', the first of the two to flower (July - August), with glistening, dusky pink flowers; and 'White', its soft, silvery plumes arriving slightly later (August - September). Pampas grass flowers are excellent cut and used for indoor arrangements, both fresh and dried. We love these grasses! They give so much and ask for so little in return. Happy in any soil apart from waterlogged, in full sun. H&S 'Rosea': 2m x 1.5m. 'White': 2.5m x 2m. Hardy, evergreen perennial.
