Tell Me More...
Coprosma 'Eclipse' is a terrific foliage plant with glossy, semi- evergreen leaves. The colour of the leaves are the attraction for growing this plant. Each leaf has a brown centre with red-pink margins creating year-round interest. Furthermore 'Eclipse' produces small, white flowers which bloom in Summer through to Autumn. Coprosma is a relative of the coffee plant and originates from New Zealand and Tasmania. Plants are primarily planted for their beautiful, glossy, evergreen foliage in stunning colour combinations. Known also as the Mirror Plant, because you can almost see your reflection in the glossy foliage. Coprosma 'Eclipse' is a compact variety only growing 50cm in height with a spread of 30cm, making it ideal for small spaces and containers. Plants are robust enough for coastal areas and adapt to exposed sites. A half-hardy perennial which may require frost protection in colder parts of the UK - plant in containers for ease of re-location over winter if this is the case. Prefer well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade with a south or west facing aspect.
