Using different types to take over from one another, it is possible to have a seamless, successional display of tulips from late March right up until the beginning of June. This collection brings together a well-matched, pink-hued trio of Triumph tulips. The flowering period of this type (late April to early May) is useful for bridging the gap between Single Earlies and Darwin Hybrids; the parents from which it is bred. Triumph tulips are prized for their strong, sturdy stems and classic, single, cup-shaped blooms. Tulipa 'Barcelona' bears vibrant fuchsia purple flowers and grows to 50cm. Tulipa 'Sanne' is creamy apricot flushed with warm pink, reaching 45cm, and Tulipa 'New Design' combines dark and light pink with a faint streak of yellow, and unusual, variegated foliage. Plant in fertile, well-draining soil in full sun. This type of tulip reflowers best with a dry summer dormancy. Lift and store bulbs once the foliage has died back, and replant in late autumn. Hardy to between -15 C and -20 C.
