Three exciting colourful and beautiful ornamental ferns with arching stems to enhance shady woodland-type areas of your garden. The three varieties you receive are: Athyrium niponicum var. pictum 'Pewter Lace', fronds in shades of silvery green highlighted by strong, pinky-red mid-ribs. Reaches a height and spread of around 50-60cm. Athyrium otophorum 'Okanum is a wonderful example of an ornamental fern. The light-green fronds have purple ribs and grow on purple stems. The clump forming, arching stems reach 90cm high with a spread of 100cm once mature. Athyrium niponicum var. pictum 'Red Beauty' is a handsome deciduous fern forming an attractive arch of lacy ferns. This collection of 'Japanese Painted Ferns' spread gradually offering a marked difference to your other garden plants. Extraordinarily useful as groundcover and spectacular in a woodland setting, or perhaps used to illuminate a mixed container display. Athyrium favour moist, well-drained fertile soil. Full or partial shade is important as these can be damaged by direct hot sun. Deciduous perennials, maintenance is minimal just cut back any damaged or dead fronds in either autumn or spring. Hardy herbaceous perennials.
