Tell Me More...
Coprosma is a relative of the coffee plant and originates from New Zealand and Tasmania. Primarily grown for their beautiful, glossy, evergreen foliage in stunning colour combinations which create year-round interest. Known also as the Mirror Plant, because you can almost see your reflection in the glossy foliage. Collection comprises; Coprosma 'Eclipse' - glossy leaves with a brown centre and red-pink margins - small white flowers from Summer through to Autumn, height 50cm spread 30cm; Coprosma 'Pina Colada' - variegated green and yellow foliage with tinted red edges developing in colder weather - small, green flowers from Summer through to Autumn, height and spread 1.5m; and repens 'Lemon and Lime' - variegated green and yellow foliage becomes flushed with vibrant orange in winter - during April and May small, green flowers are produced - height 1.2m tall, spread 1m. Coprosma are great for planting in coastal areas and readily adapt to exposed sites. Half-hardy shrubs to around -5 C which may require frost protection in colder parts of the UK - plant in containers for ease of re-location over winter if this is the case. Prefer well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade with a south or west facing aspect.
