Tell Me More...
Due to be launched at Chelsea Flower Show 2025, Clematis ‘Elpis’ is a stunning perennial vine that will add a touch of elegance and charm to your garden. Known for its eye-catching, star-shaped flowers, 'Elpis' boasts an enchanting blend of rich, ruby red petals, each with a striking creamy-yellow centre. Each bloom can reach up to 12cm in diameter, creating a captivating display that will turn heads and inspire compliments with flowers in waves from May to July and then again in September alongside simple, verdant foliage which is retained from March to October. This hardy (H5) clematis is perfect for trellis, arbours, and fences - offering vertical interest and a soft, romantic feel to your outdoor space. Adaptable to various conditions, Clematis ‘Elpis’ reaches a height of around 1.2m, is hardy to about -15°C. As with most clematis it likes its roots in the shade, whilst foliage and flowers thrive in full sun to partial shade. Requiring minimal care, it is ideal for both novice and experienced gardeners. Attracting pollinators like bees and butterflies, this lovely vine supports local wildlife and will spread to around 90cm. Plant in moist, well drained soil of any type.
