Named after the famous plant breeder, Clematis 'Baroness Fookes' is a breathtaking perennial vine that will transform your garden into a vibrant, verdant oasis. Renowned for its stunning deep purple flowers, this climber boasts large, velvety blooms reaching up to 15cm in diameter. Each flower features a unique, star-shaped structure with paler hues to the outer petals for extra visual interest and hints of subtle sophistication. 'Baroness Fookes' blooms from May to July, with a second flush of flowers in September ensuring your garden remains captivating throughout the growing season. This versatile clematis thrives in a variety of conditions, from sunny spots to partial shade, reaching a mature height of around 1.2m, spreading to around 90cm. An excellent choice for trellis, fences, pergolas and container gardens. Plants are hardy to around -15°C (H5) and easy going enough for busy and novice gardeners, as well as the more experienced among us. Plant this vigorous, climbing, perennial shrub in moist, well-drained soil of any kind and position in sun or partial shade, ensuring your clematis has its roots shaded from full sun.
