Tell Me More...
Commonly known as rock rose, Cistus x obtusifolius 'Thrive' is perfect for gracing the front of your garden borders where its perfect white flowers with a golden yellow centre will dazzle and shine from June to August.Plant several of these small shrubs together to create a weed-suppressing carpet of attractive sage-green foliage which will bear a profusion of white, rose-like blooms. The impossibly thin, delicate petals of Cistus x obtusifolius 'Thrive' resemble wild roses with their golden yellow pollen-rich centres and will attract a host of pollinators to your garden. This garden shrub has so much to boast about, it has even been given an Award of Garden Merit from the RHS.Cistus are evergreen plants which originate from rocky areas of the Mediterranean and therefore thrive in coastal areas where they are tolerant of sea air, dry soils, and grow well on sloped banks. Plant these shrubs in a spot which receives full sunshine and Cistus x obtusifolius 'Thrive' will reach an eventual height and spread of up to 1m tall. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain a neat and tidy habit and promote bushy growth.
