A very special combination, featuring two hard-to-come-by beauties, to make sure your garden is the talk of the neighbourhood.
Paeonia are amongst the most beautiful of all flowering plants. Creating a spectacular display in the garden, they will also give you armfuls of fresh, long-lasting flowers which are perfect for a vase or floral arrangement within your home. Sometimes blooming again in the autumn, they are luxurious plants to bring life to the garden border and come back every spring, whilst improving year on year.
The ‘Cheerful Paeonia Duo’ collection comprises; hybrid ‘King’s Day’ – huge, fragrant, blousy semi-double blooms, in shades of salmon and orange, unfurl in spring and early summer, a fully hardy perennial which reaches a height and spread 75cm; and lactiflora ‘She’s My Star’ – large, scented double blooms, each petal is coral pink and boasts a hint of yellow at the base, a hardy perennial reaching height 80cm, and spread 60cm.
Best planted as bare roots in autumn, giving plenty of time for new roots to establish before the warmer weather arrives and the top growth emerges in April. Both prefer moist, well-drained soil of any kind, in a fully sunny or partially shaded position in any aspect other than north facing.
