Tell Me More...
A fantastic evergreen shrub, Cestrum elegans produces long, arching branches of evergreen foliage. Then, from June to September, clusters of highly fragrant, exotic looking, red blooms are produced. Flower are sure to add a tropical touch to your summer and autumn garden and pull in the pollinators too. Small, ornamental, non-edible purple berries follow in autumn. Slender and erect, Cestrum elegans is happy in either borders or large containers and is sure to provide structure and form to your garden. A half-hardy shrub with an RHS hardiness rating of H3, this beauty will struggle if unprotected when temperatures dip below -5 C - so why not grow as a conservatory plant during the coldest winter temperatures where it may flower all year round. Cestrum elegans prefers to be grown in well-drained soil in a sunny or partially shaded spot, where it will reach a height and spread of 1.5-3m.
