Rich, plum purple flowers make Centaurea montana 'Jordy' as striking and alluring inclusion in rockeries, gravel garden and borders. Plants have grey-green, swordlike foliage from March to November each year. Then, from May to July, large, feathery looking flowers are borne, acting as a magnet for bees and other pollinators. If plants are deadheaded after the first bloom, you may even get a second flush of flowers in autumn.Centaurea are native to the mountain meadows and woodlands of continental Europe, as such they are as happy in dappled shade as they are in full sun. Centaurea montana 'Jordy' is an easy going plant, and will also thrive in a container, gravel garden or rockery as it is drought tolerant once it has established a good root structure. A fully hardy herbaceous perennial which matures to a height of 60cm with a spread of 50cm.
