Sophora

History and Origin:

Sophora are a genus of plants within the Fabaceae family, native to southeast Asia and areas of America. The genus name is derived from the Arabic word ‘sophera’, meaning the pea-flowered tree.

About:

Sophora are deciduous or evergreen trees and shrubs with slender foliage and trumpet-shaped blooms that are often produced in attractive clusters, releasing a sweet scent. Sophora are best suited to flower beds or borders within city, courtyard and cottage gardens. You can expect to see Sophora grow to an approximate height of 4-8m (13-26’).
