Lychnis

History and Origin:

Lychnis are a genus of flowering plants within the Caryophyllaceae family, native to Europe, Asia and north Africa. They are more commonly known as ‘campion’.

About:

Lychnis are biennial or perennial plants with modest tubular leaves that are held on stately stems, showcasing beautiful star-shaped flowers that are displayed in terminal clusters. They are easy to grow and will put on an enviable display throughout summer into autumn. They are best suited to flower beds and borders within a cottage, informal or wildflower garden.
