Leontopodium

History and Origin:

Leontopodium is a genus of plants within the Asteraceae family, native to mountainous regions of Europe. The genus is commonly referred to as ‘edelweiss’ although a variety in its own right.

About:

Leontopodium are herbaceous perennials with clusters of small yellowish-white flowers that look and feel much like felt. They have stems and thin leaves that look powdery white. Leontopodium make a fantastic feature when planted in rock or gravel gardens. You should expect to see your Leontopodium grow to an approximate height of 50cm (20”) and a spread of 1m (40”).
