Hibiscus is a genus in the Mallow family, Malvaceae, containing several hundred-different species, native to both Asia and Hawaii. The name is derived from the Greek word ‘hibiskos’. The Hibiscus is also the native flower to Malaysia and was dubbed the Queen of tropical flowers.
Hibiscus are deciduous or evergreen annual or perennial shrubs and trees. Large, showy and delicate blousy blooms are produced in a range of bright, exotic colours.
