History and Origin:

Aruncus are a genus within the Rosaceae family, native to mountainous regions of the Northern Hemisphere.

Aruncus are considerable, clump forming perennials that make an impressive statement especially in shady spaces. They are also commonly referred to as Goats Beard. This is due to their feathery plumes of small, creamy white flowers that form funnels to closely resemble a long bushy beard. These highly textured flowers are held high on an abundance of pinnately divided leaves.
