History and Origin:

Anaphalis are within the Asteraceae family which consists of over 100 species, native to Asia and north America. It is thought that the name originates from the process of drying flowers for decorative effect. Parts of Anaphalis were used by Native Americans to cure illnesses and ailments.


Anaphalis are renowned for their bold clusters of pearly triple blooms that embellish a mound of gorgeous foliage. They are a fantastic addition to flower beds and borders within a cottage and informal garden setting.
