A stunning and bright display, Caryopteris incana 'Sunshine Blue' is highly valued for its late season colour, as it lights up your garden all summer, and well into the autumn. An abundance of large, fragrant, amethyst-blue blooms are held in unusual clusters above bright, golden-yellow foliage, creating an eye-catching contrast from June to October each year. Adored by bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, it is ideal for creating a wildlife-friendly garden. Commonly known as Blue Beard, because of the shape of the blooms, Caryopteris incana 'Sunshine Blue' is an upright, drought tolerant, deer resistant shrub which will reach 75-90cm height and spread. Compact yet dense, it is perfect for planting in either borders or containers on a patio. Preferring to be planted in a sunny position, in well-drained soil, 'Sunshine Blue' is hardy to around -10 C, dying back to become dormant over winter, in readiness to sprout again in the spring.
