Naturalising to form large clumps, sprays of vibrant, open-mouthed blooms are held on strong wiry stems in sprays from summer into the autumn.Collection comprises; Crocosmia x crocosmiiflora 'Columbus' - golden buds with red-purple markings are held on strong wiry stems, each opens to reveal an orange-yellow flower with 6 intriguing markings in the throat, height 60-80cm; Crocosmia 'Lucifer' AGM - probably the most well-known of the family, intensely tomato-red, trumpet-shaped blooms with fiery hues, height 1.2m; and Crocosmia masonorium AGM - bright, upward-facing blooms in fiery orange shades, height 1.2m.Originating from the South African plains, Crocosmia are hardy, drought tolerant plants which are both attractive to pollinators and make an exceptionally good and long-lasting cut flower for your indoor arrangements and vases.Easy to grow, preferring fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny or partially shaded position, Crocosmia create clumps of up to 45cm wide which can be divided. Hardy bulbous perennials which become dormant over winter ready to sprout again with renewed vigour in the spring.
